Stamped Concrete in Brookline, MA

Get the High-End Look Without the High-End Price

Stamped concrete can be used to create customized designs in a variety of styles (such as, but not limited to, natural stone, brick, wood, etc.) on simple surfaces. At Brookline Concrete Services, our decorative concrete is designed to provide the aesthetic appeal you are looking for while still delivering the long-lasting benefits of concrete.

What I have learned from installing stamped concrete over many years is that three main components distinguish professional results from amateur results in stamped concrete: timing, technique, and an eye for detail. I know when to stamp, how much pressure to apply, and how to get a consistent pattern in large areas. Our stamped concrete specialists will give you a finish that looks like it was done by hand and will continue to perform well for decades.

Stamped Concrete Designs and Patterns

We offer an extensive range of stamped concrete designs:

Concrete Designs Mimicking Natural Stone (Fieldstone/Limestone/Flagstone/Slate): These types of designs will look like natural stone from a quarry with the appearance of joints and different surfaces, as well as various other characteristics.

Stamped Concrete Brick/Cobblestone Design Options (Basket Weave/Herringbone/Running Bond/European Cobblestone): Our stamped concrete products can be designed in a variety of ways, including but not limited to Basket Weave, Herringbone, Running Bond, and European Cobblestone designs, which give a very old-world feel.

Wood-Grained Stamped Concrete Designs: Our Wood-Grained Stamped Concrete is available in various colors, grains, and patterns. This design gives the warm look of real wood without the problems associated with real wood, such as rot, splintering, and termites.

Mediterranean Tile/Geometric/Stamped Travertine/Pool Deck & Patio Tile Design: Whether you are looking for a Mediterranean style tile design, a geometric design, or a travertine design, we have what you are looking for. Stamped travertine is also ideal for pool decks and patios because of its slip-resistant properties and attractive appearance.

Custom Designs: With so many design options at your disposal, the possibilities really are endless when it comes to creating a custom design that fits perfectly into your home’s unique architectural style and landscape.

Stamped Concrete Applications

Stamped Concrete for Backyard Living

Create an outdoor space to live in by having a beautiful stamped concrete patio installed. With stamped concrete, you can have a patio that is used for entertainment, dining, relaxation, and other purposes.

Stamped Concrete Driveway

Impress your neighbors and guests as they pull up to your home with a new stamped concrete driveway installation. The patterned stamped concrete driveway will add curb appeal to your property and withstand heavy vehicle loads.

Stamped Concrete for Pool Surrounds

A safe and attractive pool area begins with a stamped concrete pool deck or stamped concrete pool surround. A stamped concrete pool surround has non-slip properties and is resistant to moisture exposure from the water and sun, keeping it cooler than black materials.

Stamped Concrete Walkways

Create a path of beauty and functionality leading people throughout your property with a new stamped concrete walkway. Choose from several different patterns, including those resembling natural stone and brick designs, or even choose a unique texture.

Stamped Concrete Installation Process

Our installation process ensures quality results:

Site Preparation: The first step in preparation of the site is excavation, grading, and compacting the base so that it can be stable enough to carry the weight of the stamped work. A poor base will result in an unstable finish.

Form Setting: Next, we set up our forms so that when the concrete has been placed in them, they can provide us with a way to keep the concrete from spreading out unevenly and to give us a definite edge.

Concrete Placement: When we place the concrete, we make sure that the concrete is the right consistency for the stamps we will use to create the pattern. If the concrete is too wet, the stamps may tear through it; if the concrete is too dry, the stamps may stick to the concrete.

Color Application: Depending on what type of design you want for your stamped work, we will either apply an integral color, color hardener, or release agent to the surface of the concrete. The color applied to the concrete will greatly impact the overall look of the finished product.

Stamping: Once the concrete has been applied to the area where we will be creating the stamped pattern, we will begin to apply the stamps to the surface of the concrete at the right consistency. Stamping should not occur until the concrete has reached the correct consistency, which is not too wet nor too dry, as this is the most important time in the process of creating a stamped surface. By working methodically and systematically, we are able to produce a consistent pattern without any gaps or misaligned areas.

Detailing: After the stamping process, we will detail the area by hand-tooling the edges, joints, and transitions to give the finished product a realistic appearance.

Cleaning and Sealing: After the stamped work has cured for the recommended amount of time, we will clean the surface to remove any dirt or debris and then seal the surface to protect the color and to prevent staining, water damage, and excessive wear.

Stamped Concrete Overlay

Yes. If there are suitable conditions. A stamped concrete overlay is an application of a new layer of stamped concrete on top of an existing slab of concrete, which allows us to add different decorative designs (patterns) as opposed to removing all of the existing concrete.

If your existing slab of concrete has no major cracks, settlement issues, or structural damage, then we can apply an overlay to your existing slab. We will evaluate your existing surface to determine if applying an overlay is the best option for you. An overlay costs less than replacing the entire slab with new concrete and provides the same look and feel.

Is Stamped Concrete Expensive?

You are going to pay more for stamped concrete (as compared to regular concrete), but you will be paying much less than the materials it mimics. You get a natural stone appearance without natural stone prices.

The cost associated with stamped concrete can include:

  • The size of your project

  • How complex your design is

  • The number of colors that you would like to use

  • Site conditions

  • Removal of current surface(s)

We also offer a detailed estimate, which clearly shows you how we have broken down the estimated cost of your project. Even though stamped concrete may require a larger upfront investment as opposed to other options available to you, there are many benefits to using this option, such as durability, minimal upkeep, and an increase in your home’s overall value.
